By now, sneakerheads that frequent this blog might already be aware of the fact that the Air Jordan 9 is being transformed into a winter-themed boot. Two colorways of the Air Jordan 9 NRG Boot have already been unveiled, one dubbed “Black Gum” and the other nicknamed “Olive,” both of which may end up joining December’s Air Jordan releases 2017. However, it turns out a far more vibrant, sample colorway of the Air Jordan 9 NRG Boot has surfaced, which may or may not end up hitting the shelves. More importantly, it seems that even the Air Jordan 3 is receiving the NRG Boot treatment.
Jordan Brand has somewhat confirmed that next month’s Air Jordan releases 2017 will indeed included one of the two Air Jordan 9 NRG Boot colorways that have already been unveiled. Unlike the “Black Gum” or “Olive” colorways though, the unreleased sample iteration can be best described as multicolored, consisting of hues like Blue, Grey, Orange and Purple. In terms construction, sneakerheads likely already know that the Air Jordan 9 NRG Boot still resembles the retro silhouette, but is equipped with metal D-ring lace eyelets and rugged, boot-like outsoles. The other two colorways definitely mimic the boot aesthetic much better; perhaps that is why this multicolored iteration remained a sample.
Apparently, the Air Jordan 3 is not merely being transformed into an NRG Boot; rather this Air Jordan 3 NRG variation will be a homage to man who designed the model, none other than Tinker Hatfield. Information leaked by pyrates on Twitter provides some idea of what this “sneakerboot” will look like, even though no photos have been leaked yet. It seems that the color scheme will consist of Black, Cement Grey, Fire Red and White, which suggests that it might be inspired by the Air Jordan 3 “Fire Red.” This new variation and its limited iteration will be dubbed the Air Jordan 3 Retro NRG “Tinker.”In case sneakerheads are wondering, it is the Air Jordan 9 NRG Boot “Olive” that will be arriving next month, apparently on December 6th, 2017, but there has been no news about the “Black Gum.” As for the Air Jordan 3 Retro NRG “Tinker,” the only things known so far is that it will be a limited release that will joining March’s Jordan releases .
